Here are answers to some of the most common questions I’m asked. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, please just get in touch.
I’m based in Horsham, West Sussex, and all sessions take place in my home studio. The space is designed to be calm, comfortable and fully equipped with everything we need. I don’t travel or offer location shoots, as the studio allows me to give you the very best experience and the highest quality images.

If you or your child is ill, then I ask that you let me know as soon as possible and we can postpone your session until they’re feeling better. If there is a problem on the day, just before the shoot, I’ll do my best to give you another time that works, but I might need to charge a re-booking fee if you cancel on the same day.
I often get asked by families about the best clothes to wear for their photoshoot. While there are many ways to use colour in photography, my favourite by far is to use a very limited colour palette. I love the timeless look of whites and neutrals for ensuring that nothing detracts from my subjects and that they are always the focus of the shot. It’s for this reason that it’s important for my clients to give some thought, in advance, as to what they will all wear. Neutral-coloured clothes tend to work best and creams, whites, or even light greys will bring cohesion to your images. Think light linens in summer and chunky cream knits in winter.
For newborns, a simple white vest or babygro is all that you’ll need to bring and I have a range of neutral wraps for added texture and interest. A plain white shirt with the sleeves rolled up or T shirt and jeans is perfect for Dad and I have a number of outfits for toddlers and sitters that you can borrow. And for maternity shoots, there’s nothing more beautiful than a growing bump so this is the time to let your belly show. Bring a basic white or grey vest top, a white shirt, a neutrally-coloured lingerie set and we can use these to create a range of looks to celebrate this special time.
So, when it comes to what to wear for your photoshoot, give careful consideration to colour. And, when it comes to colour, remember less is most definitely more.
It is no problem to remove the superficial spots and scratches using photoshop – and I will always work to get the best result – but my overall style is to create the most natural, true images, with no obvious retouching.
It normally takes me a couple of weeks to edit your photographs. If you need them for a gift or a special event please let me know when you make your booking.
I retain the copyright to all my images. However, if you choose to buy the high resolution digital files, you will be granted a license to reproduce the images for your personal use, or to give to family and friends.

It’s best to book as soon as possible. For newborn sessions, many families reserve their spot around the time of their 20-week scan. I only take on a limited number of newborn bookings each month, which gives me the flexibility to accommodate your baby’s arrival. For milestone sessions — especially first birthdays — it’s a good idea to book early to secure your preferred date.
Photo sessions vary in length, newborn sessions are usually around two hours, milestone sessions tend to be shorter, around an hour. Don’t forget that it’ll take a little time to set up and for everyone to become relaxed – however we will take the time we need to get the right shot.
